    San Francisco Pride

San Francisco Pride returns on 27 and 28 June 2026 with the theme Resistance in Action!, celebrating the city's long history of LGBTQ+ activism while centring transgender, gender non-conforming, non-binary and intersex communities.

San Francisco Pride is one of the oldest and largest annual LGBTQ+ parades in the world, drawing hundreds of thousands of people into the city each year to celebrate love, diversity, and community. The event fills the streets with music, color, and pride, making it one of the most iconic LGBTQ+ celebrations anywhere.

What is the theme for San Francisco Pride 2026?

The 2026 theme is "Resistance in Action," which emphasizes the power of celebration as a form of activism, especially amid ongoing challenges to LGBTQ+ rights. Organisers describe this year's event as a renewed commitment to solidarity, visibility and collective action, using queer joy as a force for resistance and liberation.

    Pride Parade

The San Francisco Pride Parade takes place on Sunday, 28 June 2026, beginning at 10:30 am at Beale Street and Market Street. The route follows Market Street for approximately 1.6 miles before concluding at Civic Center Plaza, where the main festival celebrations continue throughout the day.

Hundreds of contingents representing community organisations, advocacy groups, businesses and performers will take part in one of the most recognisable Pride marches in the world.

    Tips for Parade Day

    Arrive early
Popular viewing spots fill quickly, particularly around Embarcadero, Montgomery and Civic Center. Arriving one to two hours before the parade begins is recommended.

    Use public transport
Market Street is closed to vehicles throughout the day. BART and Muni stations between Embarcadero and Civic Center provide the easiest access.

    Prepare for changing weather
San Francisco's microclimates can bring sunshine, wind and cooler temperatures within a few hours. Bring water, sunscreen and layers.

    Lineup

The Main Stage at Civic Center runs from 12 pm to 6 pm on Sunday, 28 June, hosted by Honey Mahogany and Sister Roma. Headliners include Aly & AJ and Bay Area rapper Kamaiyah, alongside appearances from Stephan Jenkins, activist Raquel Willis and a programme of local performers and community groups.

Additional acts taking to the stage throughout the afternoon include Christie James, Oakland to All featuring Fijiana, Princess featuring Dawn, Per Sia, Spellman Twinz, DREAMS, Bettyie Jayne, Frankie Maston and Mateo Briscoe. Community performances from Bay Area American Indian Two-Spirits, CHEER San Francisco and Queen Out featuring Tara Dikhof B2B MAMA SAN reflect the festival's continued focus on local voices and LGBTQ+ representation.

Beyond the Main Stage, five community stages across Civic Center will showcase artists, speakers and performers celebrating different parts of San Francisco's LGBTQ+ community throughout Pride weekend.

    Is San Francisco Pride free?

Naturally, San Francisco is a great place to celebrate Pride. Most of the events, including the parade, are free. San Fran is so expensive you have to take any freebies as they pass you by. As the organizers say, San Fran Pride is "FREE, but it's not CHEAP!"
