Madrid Orgullo, commonly known as MADO, stands as Europe's largest Pride celebration, drawing over two million visitors annually to the streets of Spain's capital. Taking place from June 28th to July 6th, 2025, this is a major destination event. The festivities radiate outward from the iconic Chueca neighborhood, Madrid's LGBTQ+ heart, with multiple stages hosting performances across key locations including Plaza de Pedro Zerolo, Plaza del Rey, Puerta del Sol, and Plaza de España.
At the center of MADO is the Pride Parade on July 6th, a grand procession that travels along Paseo del Prado from Atocha Station to Plaza de Colón. Beyond the parade, MADO featured many events, including the famous High Heel Race, and the Madrid Summit—an international human rights conference addressing LGBTQ+ issues worldwide. What began as a small demonstration in the late 1970s following Spain's transition to democracy has evolved into one of the world's most significant Pride celebrations, contributing over €150 million to Madrid's economy.
